  • New Echota State Park, Calhoun, Georgia - The capital of the Cherokee Nation before it was forced west along the "Trail of Tears," this Georgia State Park features restored and recreated Cherokee homes and businesses of the era.
  • Point Park and Missionary Ridge, Tennessee - Catoosa's Chickamauga battlefield is only part of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park. Point Park, at the top of Lookout Mountain, is the site of the "Battle Above the Clouds" and Missionary Ridge is the site of the rout of Braxton Bragg's Army of Tennessee.
